Migrants deported to Panama secure six-month permits but their future remains uncertain
Panama City - The U.S. deported nearly 300 migrants to Panama in February, leaving them stranded in a country where they do not have contacts or resources. Most fear returning to their home countries. Panama gave them initial 90-day residential permits, followed by six-month work permits. It is unclear whether the migrants will choose to stay in Panama.
